Your First Visit

Consultation

Your initial consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Your consultation is completely covered by The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).

During your first visit, you will meet with one of our specialists to establish a thorough understanding of your reasons for seeking fertility assistance. There are no tests during your first visit, and you do not need to have had tests prior to your first appointment. However, if your referring doctor had you undergo tests, those results will be sent along with your referral.

Make sure to bring the following to your first appointment:

Assessments

Once the fertility specialist has a good understanding of your situation, they will recommend certain assessments. Most assessments incur no additional costs, but some will. If additional costs are required, your doctor will review them with you before moving forward. Once you determine which assessments you need, you will return to undergo them at a later appointment.

Review

After you have completed your assessments, you will have an appointment for review. During this third appointment, you and your doctor will go over your assessment results. From there, you will discuss their recommended fertility care plan, as well as any associated costs.
